Leicester Children's Holiday Home
This holiday home was initially established by Lady Rolleston with the help of local dignatories and business people. The home was for poor and orphaned boys in Leicester who were taken for a holiday to Mablethorpe where they stayed in tents.
A home for girls was constructed in 1900 and one for boys followed in 1905.
The building pictured above was built in 1936.
The building still functions as a holiday centre today. Details about it can be found here together with a write-up of its long history.
