Wallingford Cottage Homes
In the truest sense of the term, these really qualify as being cottage homes in no way other than their name.
In fact, the cottage homes at Wallingford, east of Didcot and Abingdon, south of Oxford, comprised only three 'cottages' and, when they were built, had capacity for only 33 children in total.
From some of the surviving records, it seems that these homes may have been open until at least 1955.

NB. Until 1974, Wallingford was in Berkshire, from then on, it has been in Oxfordshire.
